Carriers: «In the time of quarantine would be extremely hard for us without cooperation with «KARPATNAFTOCIM»
Chiefs of two famous Transportation companies in Kalush, specialized on passenger services, told us how they work at present
Recently I had the telephone conversation with Directors of Limited Liability Companies «KALUSH- TRANS» and «LUX TRANS» Oleg Ferens and Igor Buchak about situation in their work teams due to spreading of coronavirus infection. It concerned mostly the new terms of activity of both companies in the time of quarantine, and namely: providing drivers with employment, protecting their personal safety and fulfilment of anti-epidemic measures regarding the preparation of compartments of buses, involved in passengers’ traffic as well as requirements relative to prevention the virus infection of people in transport vehicles of the Carriers.
Igor Buchak:
– Compared to other Carriers, our situation is not the worst one. When quarantine was imposed in Ukraine, our company did not stop the activity and is still working, though because of world pandemic of coronavirus disease COVID-19, we lost the customers for tourist transportation, including the international. It’s difficult to forecast how long will last this break in cooperation with tour operators, because the counties continue to keep their borders closed for tourists. And during season periods, especially in summer, «LUX TRANS» Ltd. earned particularly the most from tourist international transportations to Europe. And it’s really a good thing that during quarantine «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd is working, and we have the concluded Agreement for the year 2020 on transportation of the employees of this Company from the territory of the town to the location of Ethylene and Polyethylene Production Facilities and back. Moreover, from March, 19 under the Additional Agreement with «KRPATNAFTOCHIM», signed for the period of quarantine, we transport petrochemists from some villages of Kalush district to their work place and back pursuant to the designated routes. These bus runs, additionally paid by the above-mentioned Company, as well as service rendering to other smaller customers relative to buses transportation of their employees, endurably allow «LUKS TRANS» to be afloat.
We also hope for the improvement of financial situation in our Company on the account of renewal the cooperation with State Enterprise
Production Association «Carpaty». Since March, 20 it has not been working due to quarantine in Ukraine and because of closing the plants in Europe that manufacture automobiles brands «Volkswagen», «Porsche», «Mercedes», «Skodа», for which the cable-conductors products were produced at the above-mentioned Enterprise.
Oleg Ferens:
– During quarantine the team of «KALUSH-TRANS» Ltd. works, sticking to the introduced restrictive measures. We suspended all city passenger traffic at bus routes of regular use, which were conducted under contractual terms with Executive Committee of Kalush City Council. It’s a significant percentage from the total scope of activities of our company, which were conducted prior to the Government Decree on preventing the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 on the territory of Ukraine. Currently we also do not render services of irregular passenger traffic, such as transportation to different mass events (anniversary events, festive, cultural, entertainment, sport, religious, promotional events, etc.), which are prohibited at the moment.
We only continue to serve our old partners – Kalush Power Station and «KARPATNAFTCHIM» Ltd. We constantly cooperate with them, started from the year 2004. And now I can frankly say, that without transportation of employees of the above-mentioned companies to work place and back, «KALUSH-TRANS» Ltd., had also in the time of coronavirus epidemic to suspend temporarily its activity, like the most other municipal and district carriers. Especially to secure the work for our drivers of buses helped «KARPATNAFTOCHIM», because this Company took care about the additional transportation of their employees from villages to work places and back home. According to the Agreement and schedules of buses, approved and signed with the above Company, we fulfil bus runs along the route from villages Verhnya, Voynyliv, Berezhnytsia and from other areas, as well as we transport the employees to their work location from the residential area Pidgirky.
