Swans settled on buffer ponds of the enterprise. The workers of this unit have hope that swans would like to build their nests here

Not all people from Kalush know that on the outskirts of the village Tomashivtsi of Kalush district is located the hydraulic structure of   «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd., so-called buffer ponds. But in fact, this water object that contains two ponds with total surface of 8 hectares is one of the sections of complicated technological process of waste waters treatment of «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd., as well as other industrial enterprises of Kalush and household effluents of the town.

– The main task of buffer ponds, – tells Nasar Rusko, a chief of  neutralization and treatment of industrial waste water unit of «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd, is a natural additional treatment of waste waters, which have already been treated by means of vital activity of plants and microorganisms that are in nature as well as the additional saturation of this water by natural oxygen. It’s important because from our ponds water is coming to the river Dniester near village Moshkivtsi.

The evidence of the fact how effective and safe, concerning the environmental effect, work first of all the treatment units of the enterprise and buffer ponds, which also are served by the team of the unit for neutralization and treatment of industrial waste waters, became clear to a great amount of our countrymen from information in social networks that on ponds in Tomashivtsi settled the swans.

And though for our workers and for the residents of surrounding villages this is nothing new, because these majestic birds are constant guests of the ponds in winter time, but it happens so seldom that they come to settle here in spring.

– In winter swans often visit us, – tells Vasyl Shushaylo, the trackwalker of neutralization and treatment unit, – but mostly several pairs of birds аre flying to us. Some of them spent winter here because we were feeding them. People from surrounding villages were coming to us, made photos, on the background of swans at our ponds, fed them, but such visits were always controlled by us.

And now the arrival of more than 20 swans at the end of spring pleasantly surprised us. Because in such period they are making nests, so probably a part of swans will continue their offspring at our ponds. It would be a great joy for us.

And there is only one explanation why the swans have chosen and liked our ponds: water is pure here and the surrounding nature really calls to itself. And it not only calls the swans, but also ducks, bold-coots and other birds.
