«Organism» of treatment facilities of the enterprise is being constantly «recovered»

For «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd that is working at the time being at full loads, a main target is the performance of the intended tasks of qualitative final products output. And besides of this priority, extremely important for the enterprise is also the issue of a clean environment preserving. That is why the treatment facilities also require a great attention regarding the qualitative operation. These facilities cannot be stopped even for a moment because they are a strategic object for industrial enterprises and for a whole town Kalush.

Regarding this aspect, Industrial Waste Waters Neutralization and Treatment Unit is not deprived of financing resources for necessary renovations, process improvement for wastes treatment as well as for qualitative parameters betterment of purified waters, which are coming to the river Dniester.

– Our treatment facilities are to some extent unique, because they differ from a number of other facilities in Ukraine. They secure treatment of industrial wastes as well as communal household wastes that are coming from all enterprises, organizations and from a whole residential area of Kalush – tells a technologist of the Unit Olga Yamnych. – All wastes (household-social, acid-alkali, hypochlorite, organic) are subjected to a full physical-chemical and two-stage biological treatment  and also have the cascade-block additional treatment. The return waste waters, purified to the standard, are being transported via reinforced concrete collector of a large diameter to  village Tomashivtsi to buffer ponds. They have natural biological treatment there and only after that are coming to the river Dniester.

The fact that in biological buffer ponds in Tomashivtsi village  the water, which is transported from there via collector and is  dumped to Dniester river is really perfectly cleaned and livable for plants, fish and their reproduction, is confirmed by often visits of swans and other birds to these ponds. More detailed about recently fulfilled activities for the support in a good condition the process equipment and machinery of treatment facilities was told by Nazar Rusko, a chief of Waste Waters Neutralization and Treatment Unit.

As it was notified by him, cleanings and partial repairs of process equipment and pipelines of main production facilities of «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd., which were performed in May, 2021, gave a chance to his teams during process conducting to improve the situation concerning the compliance with regulatory indicators of contaminated substances in industrial waste waters.

– Scheduled and unscheduled repairs and process equipment cleaning became vitally important also for the  «organism» of treatment facilities of the enterprise, which are continually  in operation during many years, – tells Nazar Romanovych. – And we constantly make such repairs. For instance, after repairs, which had been performed in May at the plants, a similar extensive work was also made at the Unit of Neutralization and Purification of Industrial Waste Waters without temporary shutdown of its operation. Due to diligent joint activities of our Unit team and specialists of Repair-Mechanic Service of «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd., in a short time was performed the purification of aero tank of biological treatment of organic and household waste waters as well as the substitution of pipelines of compressed air  supply to the aero tank.

And the renewal of a constant aeration (air supply) made a positive influence on vital activity increase of the active bacteria, which play the main role in waste water treatment.

Nazar Rusko also informed that currently at the Unit are nearing completion repair activities at the no less important sector – treatment line of acid-alkali waste waters that will favour to the qualitative parameters improvement of waste waters, purified pursuant to the standards.
