At the production facility of «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» a number of vaccinated employees approached the index 100-percent
As previously reported, the team of ethylene and polyethylene production facility from «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd was the most actively involved in the vaccination campaign to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Here, in the second decade of this month, they were the first to overcome the so-called vaccination threshold of 80 percent. As of November 4, in the team of this production facility, the total number of which today is about 400 employees, the average number of vaccinated has increased to 97 percent.
Such high level of vaccination at the above-mentioned production facility was also confirmed by a manager of the facility Іvan Fedoriv.
In the commentary for newspaper «NK» Ivan Myhaylovych mentioned that a certain explanatory work with workers of the divisions and head offices was carried out. As examples were also given publications from newspaper, in which experts explained the need for vaccination against COVID-19 and the development of collective immunity. -However, in a situation with another exacerbation of the coronavirus pandemic and a sharp increase in the number of deaths of Ukrainians who depart this life due to Covid, – continued Ivan Fedorov, – unvaccinated workers probably worried the least that the introduction of stricter quarantine restrictions could deprive work and earnings. They were more overwhelmed by the fear of getting COVID-19 and all of them realized that without vaccination there is no way out of situation. We cannot exclude the fact that in Ukraine due to the coronavirus epidemic soon without an internal COVID-certificate will not even be able to go to the store in the “red” quarantine zone to buy breadBut we all hope that this will not happen, and the situation with coronavirus morbidity and mortality from this disease is stabilizing. Ivan Myhaylovych also noted that at ethylene and PE facilities as of October 28 have been vaccinated against Coronavirus 100 percent of workers from the hydrocarbons production unit. In the other teams the vaccination index was the following: in the division of halogen-derivatives of ethylene, their polymers and copolymers– 99%, in the division of hydrocarbons bottling – 97%, in the division of pyrolysis, compression and pyrogas splitting 95%, in the head office of ethylene/polyethylene – 81%. And among, in total 24 workers of the facility, that have not been yet vaccinated, the majority are those who were on sick leave for a long time and have not been able to be vaccinated, have recently become ill with coronavirus, and have been tested to have high levels of antibodies to COVID-19 and workers with issued certificates with the specified contraindications to vaccination. Ivan Fedoriv also answered to the question whether there are some people from ethylene and PE facility that have Coronavirus at the time being. According to him, there are five such employees. Of these, three were vaccinated and two were not vaccinated against COVID-19. They are all in outpatient treatment. So, most likely, the disease is comparatively mild. In his turn Vasyl Hromiak, a chief of hydrocarbons production unit, where all 74 staff members were vaccinated, informed that additional explanatory work in the team on the feasibility of immunization against COVID-19 still had to be carried out with a small number of staff in order they understand the importance of vaccination. Everyone else was well aware that there are only two universal methods of controlling the coronavirus – quarantine and vaccination. It is not possible to shut down the unit and to go to remote work. And vaccination prevents diseases and severe complications from coronavirus disease.
