«Naftohimik» – a bronze medallist of championship of the region

Last weekend was held a single-round final tournament of volleyball championship of Ivano-Frankivsk region among teams of the first league

in the season of years 2019/2020. For championship title fought four best teams of this league: Volleyball club «Kutysche» (Tlumach district), «Gorish» (Delyatyn, Nadvirna district), «Naftohimik» (Kalush) and Volleyball club «Rozhniv» (Kosiv district).

Due to the prolonged quarantine in Ukraine, these competitions in accordance with recommendations of Ministry of Health of Ukraine were without the participation of spectators and with observance of sanitary norms and requirements.

– Already on Saturday, at the first day of tournament, after four matches, a solid bid for champion title was made by the team «Gorish», – informed, commenting decisive volleyball battles, a chairman of Sport and Physical Training Club (FSC) of «Naftohimik» Bogdan Voytovych. – Volleyball players from Delyatyn gained two three- scores victories, firstly over our team with result 3:0, and then gained victory over nominal masters of the Final – team «Kutysche» with result 3:1.

Unfortunately in the second match of this day «Naftohimik» lost in the play against VC «Rozhniv» with score 1:3, and volleyball players from Kosiv earlier in start battle of final tournament won against VC «Kutysche with score 3:0.

On Sunday «Gorish» surely outplayed VC «Rozhniv» (3:0), and officially for the first time became the champion of region in volleyball among teams of the first league. Correspondingly our volleyball players again received the possibility «to catch» the prize place. But in order to implement this they certainly had to win against VC «Kutysche» for «dry draw» score. The wards of Lubomyr Fedynyak have successfully coped with this task; however in each of three sets they conquered the contestants with minimal difference in two scores and with similar result 25:23.

Among three teams, that in the end had three scores each, according to better difference of balls in the sets, the second place won VC «Kutysche. The third place won the team «Naftohimik», and VC «Rozhniv» won the last (the forth) place in the summary standing table of regional championship in the first league of season 2019/2020.

According to information of Bogdan Voytovych, Kalush team «Naftohimik» became a bronze medallist of regional championship in the first league already the second season in succession.  Prior in this league it was  a four-time silver winner and also one time won «bronze» of regional championship among teams of Higher League.

The Organization committee of a final tournament also nominated the best players of season 2019/2020 in the first league. In the list of prize-winners is also a young volleyball player of «Naftohimik» Dmytro Magerko from Pidmyhaylya, who only plays for Kalush team from the last season. He was named as the best versatile player of the tournament.
