Petrochemists restored the railway crossing reliably and in the optimal time.

Snow and frost did not prevent the employees of the railway workshop of KARPATNAFTOCHIM Ltd reliably and in a short time organize and carry out repairs of the regulated two-track railway crossing at Kropyvnyk station, which is serviced and maintained by the enterprise. The works were performed by employees of the specialized contracting firm “TAVRIYA BUD” from Mykolaiv. At first they did it on one track, and then on the other, which allowed not to stop rail freight transportations.        This was facilitated to the repairmen by the railway-roaders of the enterprise, who delivered in advance to the site of dismantling-installation and other activities a set of modern reinforced concrete structures for crossing and namely: rails, fasteners and all necessary materials, purchased at  Starokostiantyniv plant of reinforced concrete.        And then they were removing the dismantled old railway line and constantly monitored the progress of repair works.        – This railway crossing is a very important object of our railway workshop-tells its chief Mykola Homa. –Trains carrying the company’s products and raw materials, used for its production, run on it around the clock.Also on this intersection of the road with railway tracks are moving trucks of various loading capacity and other vehicles that arrive to a customs post «Kalush» and not only there. Therefore, the load on the railway crossing is very high and for more than ten years of operation there was a need to repair it with the replacement of both the upper and lower structure of the track.This will allow us to provide more reliable traffic safety and improve the conditions for the passage of trains and vehicles at this high-risk object.      To carry out these works, from several bidders that submitted their Offers, was selected «TAVRIYA BUD» LLC, with which the department of buildings, structures and industrial objects repair of KARPATNAFTOCHIM Ltd concluded a corresponding Agreement. And it was decided to implement this project in a current year.– According to our proposal the contracting firm agreed to carry out the necessary repair activities at the two-track railway crossing of the station Kropyvnyk, – tells a chief of the department of buildings, structures and industrial objects repair of KARPATNAFTOCHIM Ltd Volodymyr Stefanyuk. – The Management of the railway workshop and the enterprise took all necessary measures to inform the local self-government bodies about the planned works on the crossing in advance and, in particular they informed about that territorial communities from Kalush and Verhnya and published this information in electronic and print media to a wide range of readers. The message indicated and drew attention to the fact that these days, due to the repair of the railway crossing, the road section near the locomotive depot of the railway workshop of KARPATNAFTOCHIM Ltd will be closed, so drivers can enter Kalush customs post and station Kropyvnyk only if they turn there from the section of the road between the plant main headquarters of the enterprise and the village of Verhnya.

The contractors fulfilled their task even faster than planned. In four days, they completely dismantled old reinforced concrete slabs, rails,  pulled out a sand and gravel layer from under the sleepers, installed new lower ballast and mounted the upper part of the two-track crossing, using a modern set of high-strength, frost-resistant concrete floor slabs.

Regulated traffic through this railway crossing has already been resumed.
