Volodymyr Stefanyuk: «Initiative of creation at «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» the repair-construction sector justifies itself»

In accordance with the accepted decision by the management of «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» about the creation of a new repair-construction sector in the structure of repair department of the enterprise, this sector was formed and almost three months has been working under the leadership of Volodymyr Stefanyuk, a chief of department for buildings, structures and industrial objects repair. To tell the truth it is not at present fully completed like it was planned before, but a positive result from its work is more and more obvious.

– Initiative of creation at «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» the repair-construction sector justifies itself, – stresses this fact Volodymyr Stefanyuk, who was one of the initiators of creation the own sector at the enterprise for prompt execution of works for buildings, structures and industrial objects repair. – The territory of our complex is huge enough that is why minor and urgent repairs occur always and will occur in future too. And they are, for sure, to be made.

It’s not so simple to involve to the aforesaid activities the subcontracting organizations. We involve them, as a rule, to overhauls and other large shut down activities, which are specific and complicated for the fulfillment. Besides of that, an external firm agrees to carry out repair activities under contractual terms, provided that there is a great number of such works, and if the total cost of contract will constitute the respective price, which could suit such firm. That is why is lost the promptness of repair execution, and it’s necessary constantly to put aside for later term some scheduled works in buildings and structures of the enterprise.

And now this negative situation is gradually changing. Though staff of repair-construction sector, headed by Andrei Tymkiv, is halfway completed its workers have already showed themselves properly. Minor works of internal buildings and structures repair are carried out quickly. Within a short period of time (less than three months) was renovated and repaired 12 offices in the main headquarters building, where have been moved the employees from the hired by enterprise three-storied building. Workers of our sector also made some other activities, connected with windows frame repair, windows glassing, etc. As per rough estimations, this experimental newly formed sector compared to subcontracting organizations, which had to be involved in the execution of renovating-repair activities at buildings and structures, cheapened almost twice the cost of such works execution. And so the economic benefit from its activity is really evident.

Volodymyr Stefanyuk informed that the workers of the above-mentioned sector have all required building tools, joiner’s instruments and other tools at their disposal. Construction materials for them are booked by the department, headed by him, and are timely delivered by the department of material-technical supply and equipment completeness. Workers of the sector are constantly busy with activities, planned for each day and month.

– While it is cold outside, the workers of repair-construction sector will continue to execute scheduled jobs inside, and during spring-autumn period will be mainly involved with outside jobs, – continues Volodymyr Vasylyovych. – Soon they will start the renovation and repair of concrete platforms at the cooling towers of ethylene unit. We also plan to involve them in the repair of salt storehouse at the chlorine and caustic soda membrane unit, repair of columns, small roofs, plaster works, as well as finishing, lining and other activities. The choice of workers for staff completeness of the sector is going on. We’d also like to have qualified roofers, workers who are able almost with identical success to execute all required repair-construction activities. They will surely have the chance to learn from each other, and if required, we will involve some of them to work together with specialists of specialized subcontracting organizations in order them to adopt some experience from those specialists.
